Many roads lead into one valley. Some come from the north, some from the sea, some along the old track over the pass, but everyone meets at the same gate. That is how we see Alardon: players will come from different devices, and there will be one world for all of them.
Why we are no longer only in the browser
We started Alardon as a browser game, and the browser is not going away. But huge battles need the full power of a computer, and the browser does not yet give all of it. The new core we described in the previous post lets us build the same game for different platforms without rewriting it each time.
In what order
- PC launcher. First comes Alardon for Windows with its own launcher. It downloads updates by itself and starts the game. This is where the first closed tests will take place.
- Mac. Next comes the version for Apple computers.
- Steam. Then Alardon will appear on Steam, so it is easy to find, add to your wishlist and play together with friends.
- Browser. After that, the version that runs straight from the page, with no installation, returns.
- Phones. And only then will it be the turn of iPhone and Android.
One world, one account
Wherever you play, it will be the same Alardon: the same kingdoms, the same markets and the same wars. Your hero, his banner and everything you have earned are tied to your account on alardon.com, not to a device. You can start a campaign in the evening at your computer and look in on your lands in the morning from another device, once its turn comes.
What it means for you right now
If you want to get into the first tests, subscribe to the news on the site. Subscribers will be the first to hear when sign-ups open. Meanwhile, we are stoking the forge and keep on hammering.
