There is a meadow not far from one of Alardon’s villages. At noon the grass is tall and the wind is warm, at sunset long shadows stretch from every tussock, at night a huge moon hangs above it, and in winter it is a white field crossed by a lone rider. It is all the same place. We wanted the world to live the way a real one does.
A clock that runs
Alardon has its own clock and its own calendar. The sun crosses the sky, mornings come with mist, evenings bring warm light. The moon has phases: at full moon the night is bright and silvery, at new moon it is truly dark.
A year that passes
In spring the meadows turn green, in summer the forests grow thick and dark, autumn paints the leaves gold and copper, and winter covers the roofs with snow and locks the water in ice. Over a year the world shows four different faces.
Weather with a mood
Clouds drift across the sky and cast soft shadows on the ground. Rain turns to snow where it is cold, fog hides the horizon and makes the forest deeper. At night campfires and torches are lit, and in their glow faces and armour look nothing like they do by day.
More than a pretty picture
We are building the world so that time and weather are not wallpaper but part of life in Alardon. Exactly how, we will keep secret for now. But you can already see how it looks in our gallery.
