Every story in Alardon begins with a face. Before the first battle, the first deal and the first oath, a player spends a long moment looking at the person they are about to become. We wanted that moment to be unhurried and pleasant, so the hero editor became one of the first things we brought to a video.
Familiar from the first minute
We did not invent unusual menus. A panel on the right, round tabs, preview tiles instead of long lists: if you have ever created a hero in your favourite medieval games, you will find your way at once. On a phone the panel turns into a sheet that is easy to swipe with a finger.

A face with a past
A hero of Alardon is rarely a blank page. One came back from the war with a scar across the brow, another wears a family pattern on the cheekbone, a third lost an eye in a quarrel he would rather forget. So the editor has many things that tell a story without words: scars, tattoos and war paint, earrings and piercings, an eye patch.

The features of a face come from many fine settings, built on the peoples of the world: you can start from one of them and shape a face you recognise.
Looks give no advantage
Height, build and muscle only change how a hero looks. As a matter of principle we do not want strength in battle to depend on how someone moved the sliders.

What comes next
Right now we are bringing hair to life with real volume and light, and next we will teach the editor to try on clothes. More frames of the editor are in our gallery, and new videos will appear on the YouTube channel.
